I wrote last time about how a person needs to own the fact that they sin and are in fact a sinner. But the ironic thing about God's Grace is that once we own that fact, and begin to have faith in what God says he did about that fact, by the work of His son on the cross he has fulfilled the requirements of the law, and taken our punishment and given us instead of punishment his own sons righteousness, well that changes everything.
It changes everything because when we believe that we are without hope unless God gives us hope, we then find that in fact he gives us a gift beyond our imagination. The spirit of his son becomes formed in our heart and it becomes difficult to discern where we start and where Christ begins.
As we begin to walk in this faith, trusting that the spirit of Christ is a new creation that resides in our heart, we can begin to stop working on our self improvement projects, because there is no improving of God, and begin to live a life pursuing our dreams, the things we find deep in our hearts, with the realization that God loves us because the mystery of the ages has occurred, which is we have become one with Christ. Being one with Christ means we have the favor that Christ has with God, because He is God.
In fact, as I am writing this, it comes to mind that this new state is in fact more than a restoration of what God created in the Garden of Eden, but in fact an improvement. Its better than it was. Which brings to my mind scriptures that speak of the latter rains being better than the former rains. A very God like concept. C.S. Lewis spoke of heaven using the words of a place that always is getting better, "onward and upward".
So we are a SINNER! But by faith, we are SAINTS with God's own son as a new creation living in our hearts.
